The Svenstol in the SBB's operations centre West

The control room, with 81 workstations, is at the heart of the BZ West, where over 400 employees work around the clock to ensure smooth rail traffic.

An important aspect here is ergonomic workstations so that employees can concentrate fully on their tasks. Among other things, the BZ West relies on special lighting technology that is designed to have less of an impact on employees' internal clocks and make it easier for them to adjust to changing working hours. Since the end of 2024, Svenstol 24-hour chairs have also been contributing to better ergonomics.
